Some of our favorite places to eat and things to do on Maui:
Wailea
Lineage – Book in advance; place is small but food is BIG!
Monkeypod Kitchen – Best foamy Mai Tais! Go for happy hour and order the poke tacos to go with your Mai Tai. Join us there on Wednesday night for the welcome dinner!
Matteo’s – When you’re craving Italian!
Oao Sushi – Yummy sushi and cocktails. Pronounced “Wow” (for when you see the prices!).
Island Gourmet Market – Pick up groceries, beer, wine, poke, and other provisions here!
Kihei
Coconuts – Super tasty fish tacos in a casual setting. Great for lunch!
Paia
Mama’s Fish House – Reservations required, so book in advance. Go early and see turtles on the beach!
Olowalu
Leoda’s Kitchen and Pie Shop – Worth the drive for the best sandwiches (we love the pastrami!) and the PIES!!! And don’t forget the banana bread! We typically stop right after landing to bring provisions back to the room.
Makawao
Mahalo Aleworks – This is a great little tap room with a yummy pizza place next door.
The Wooden Crate – Worth the drive. This place is in a zen setting and offers a very reasonable prix-fixe menu (for Maui). Fun fact: This is where we had dinner before Andy popped the question!
Kula
Nui’s Garden Kitchen – This is a farm with an on-site Thai food truck that is amazing. Try the “pork heaven” – you can thank us later! A good place to stop if you’re on your way to hike Haleakela.
Activities
Surf Cycling – This is seriously so fun. Ride a pontoon bike and explore the water off Makena. We’re looking into a group tour on Thursday morning (6/20). Let us know if you’re interested!
Explore Makawao and Paia – Lots of cute shops and restaurants.
